What is a "Split cast" ?

Having broken my leg in four places, I enjoy a half leg plaster on, and hope to fly contained by a few weeks, the hospital sugguested I have a split make, what is this and will it help? I enjoy a swollen ankle - odeama, not to mention swelling on the flight to worry going on for, anyone know, or have have experience with this??What is a "Split cast" ?
A split make is exactly what it sound similar to. The plaster cast will still support your leg and prevent movement which could aggravate the imaginative injury. It won't 'join up' all the opening around though. A full cast is applied and consequently cut along the length. The split though allows for the swelling which can occur whilst flying. Check next to the airline, they may have medical rules and also ask them to form you where your leg can be elevated. As on any flight, try to amble around some - hard beside a broken leg, I know but the important entity is to move around to keep your circulation flowing.
Maybe you penny-pinching a splint cast. Splints and cast support and protect injured bones and soft tissue, reducing pain, swelling, and muscle spasm. In some cases, splints and cast are applied following surgery.
