What is the benefit of mri near contrast compared to minus contrast?

this is pertaining to a lumbar (back) injury and a mri without contrast be performed instead of a mri beside contrastWhat is the benefit of mri near contrast compared to minus contrast?
MRIs of the spine generally do not require contrast, unless here has be prior back surgery, looking for a tumor, or other spinal cord pathology. For routine fund pain, a non-contrast MRI is sufficient, contrast does not add on any more information in that setting. More crucial is the type of MRI unit. That determines the resolution of the scan and detail that can be see. In general, better the tesla the better the magnet (1.5T is much better than 0.3T). Closed magnets provide better images than friendly MRIs. Next time you have an MRI, try to dance to one where the magnet is 1.5T and closed element. Hope that helps.
an mri beside contrast provides a view into the flow of fuid i believe. for example when they are looking for something approaching MS they need the contrast to see if nearby are leasions on the brain. i would think that the doctor would be capable of tell minus contract if your issue is bone related.
hope this helps
